This article describes how real-time collaborative editing was implemented in CKEditor 5. The terms “collaboration” and “real-time collaborative editing” are used interchangeably throughout the document to refer to “real real-time collaboration” as implemented by CKEditor 5.

I have an abiding interest in Web Based Rich Text editors and CRDT.

I used Writely when it was in Beta

Missed out on Workflowy. contenteditable has been a Web Standard for over a decade. It go to a point 2 years ago that it was workable. It was developed by Microsoft, and just when it is getting useful that standard is now on a sunset track.
